As the sun sets a little earlier, the water on Boone Lake is lowered, the air turns crisp, and autumn sweeps through Tennessee, painting the landscape with bold hues of orange, red, and gold.

It’s a time when nature showcases its beauty, and as the leaves begin to fall, a palpable excitement fills the air—a celebration that resonates deeply with the spirit of Tennesseans. From Nashville to Johnson City, one phrase reverberates louder around the mountain region than the sound of crunching leaves: “It’s football time in Tennessee.”

Beyond the beauty of the landscape, college football Saturdays, and falls nostalgia. It's a time when childhood memories resurface.

For me, it’s memories of growing up in Wise, Va. The memories of attending UVA-Wise football games on Saturdays with my father and grandfather, Pugs Apple Orchard, Chicken on a Stick at The Fall Fling, the smell of pumpkin spice wax melts at home and driving around Coeburn Mountain listening to music from artists as broad as Sigur Rós, Richard Buckner, AFI, and Drive-By Truckers.
